Benefits of Yoga and Meditation during Pregnancy

Pregnancy and childbirth is an empowering experience for every woman. But, it also brings along certain pains, stress and complications. Although a woman’s body is capable of giving birth, she can sabotage her own pregnancy by holding onto negative beliefs and fears.

Prenatal Yoga
Here comes the role of meditation during pregnancy. Regular meditation during the nine months of this blissful journey to motherhood offers numerous benefits to a pregnant woman. It strengthens the immune system, releases stress and fatigue and provides inner tranquility. Meditation practiced regularly releases all the negative thoughts and fears making your mind and body calm and relaxed.

For a pregnant woman, just having extra relaxation does not suffice. Meditation helps ease fatigue and keeps both the mother and the baby healthy throughout the duration of the pregnancy. There are different techniques of doing meditation during pregnancy. Some use the power of sound, others use visual symbols and some use breathing.

Meditation along with deep breathing is a perfect technique to calm down and release anxiety from the body and mind. Meditation also allows you to feel calmer, more relaxed and more energized. Listen to how ‘you’ feel and how your ‘body’ feels and then decide what you need the most from yoga and meditation.
